2nd Annual Writing Worship Conference Wraps

Writing Worship just wrapped their 2nd annual Writing Worship Conference in Franklin, TN last week. Founded by Eric and Krissy Nordhoff and hosted at the Fourth Avenue Church of Christ, the 2022 conference brought in guest speakers like Rita Springer, Dwan Hill, Christy Nockels, David Leonard, and many other voices from the Christian music community. Throughout the conference writers were able to engage in co-writes, worship times, main speakers, breakouts, and special times for community building.
The conference moved across the street to the historic Franklin Theater Tuesday night for a writers round with Mia Fields, Benji Cowart, Cody Carnes, and Chris McClarney. “It was an honor to partner again with Eric & Krissy Nordhoff this year, to curate a writers round for their conference and the community, focused on songs for the church and worship,” said Rebecca S. Jones, founder of Redbird Common, started 5 years ago, it’s the very first exclusively Christian music writers round in Middle Tennessee.

On Wednesday, the final evening of the conference, a special band was put together to sing worship songs that had been written throughout the conference. The night was a beautiful time of celebrating Jesus, songwriters, and the songs He is birthing out of this community.
The heart of the Writing Worship Community and their conferences is to “make a space for everyone at the table” and champion the songs and songwriters God is moving among. As one attendee put it, “People I admire…relate to me as a peer even though I’m a newbie. There is no sense of ‘elitism’ in this community and it’s wonderful.” Writing Worship looks forward to another conference and more events in 2023!
