Oregon Catholic Press (OCP), a leader in the liturgical music publishing space, expands its mission to share the Good News by introducing Via Cantus Music Group. This is the beginning of a journey to make this dream of providing even greater opportunities a reality. Its inaugural celebration took place during RE Congress 2023, the largest annual meeting of religious education.
The newly launched label is founded and led by GRAMMY® Award-winning artist, producer, and executive Juan Delgado, along with GRAMMY® nominee Pedro Rubalcava, also an artist, pastoral musician, and OCP’s Director of Music Development.
Via Cantus, along with a team of experts and strategic partners, wants to facilitate and collaborate in the development of a new Catholic industry, operating with excellence and transparency in the areas of production and distribution of multimedia content, event production, touring, management, and marketing, among others.
The organization’s name represents all those who do notable work in ministry, as well as the collective identity of Latin American musicians who exhibit their musical art in the contemporary Catholic genre. “Via Cantus” can be translated as “the way of singing” or “through singing.”
“Via Cantus is a response to the call of witnessing, which invites us to deepen our faith while using our gifts to serve God. This, with the desire to reach out to others who are in need of a personal encounter with Him and His unconditional love,” says Delgado.
Internationally recognized artists such as Athenas, Verónica Sanfilippo, Celinés Díaz, Kairy Márquez, Jon Carlo, María Claudia Polo, Mara, and Joaquín Chávez are part of the Via Cantus family.
“We are passionate and authentically driven to create quality content of meaningful, spiritual, and cultural value so that our artists receive our support in their artistic journey, and our listeners can find messages and music that resonate in their hearts.”
